What Is a Medical Card?
Your Financial Shield Against Hospital Bills
A medical card — formally known as medical insurance — protects you from hospitalisation and treatment bills. Instead of paying out-of-pocket for a large hospital bill, your insurance either settles the charges directly with the hospital via a Guarantee Letter, or reimburses you after treatment.
With Malaysia's medical inflation running at 15% annually — well above the Asia-Pacific average of 10% — a medical card is no longer a luxury. It is a financial necessity.

Plan Types
Choose Your Plan Structure
Two flexible approaches to reduce your monthly premium without sacrificing protection.
Co-payment Plan
You share a small percentage (15% or 5%) of each bill. In return, your monthly premium is lower and a No Claim Discount applies when you stay claims-free.
Best for: individuals who want affordable premiums with predictable out-of-pocket costs.
Deductible Plan
You pay a fixed amount per hospitalisation (RM 5,000–RM 30,000) and your insurer covers the rest. Monthly premiums can be lower by up to 60%.
Best for: retirees or those with a financial buffer who want to reduce ongoing premium commitment.
